The best new movie trailers and TV show teasers for upcoming streaming titles

The School for Good and Evil

The School for Good and Evil is where every great fairy tale begins, according to one of the teachers. Based on the book series of the same name, the flick stars Sophia Anne Caruso, Charlize Theron, Lawrence Fishburne, and others. Paul Feig helms the director’s chair. The trailer’s just short of three minutes, and arguably gives far too much away. Nevertheless, if you really need to scratch that Harry Potter itch, catch the movie on Netflix when it launches on October 19.

The Redeem Team

This is the first sports documentary we’ve seen hit Netflix for quite some time. Telling the story of the US men’s Olympic basketball team’s fall and rise in 2008, we’ll see what could be labeled as the greatest sporting comeback in history. Catch the doc on Netflix on October 7.

The Stranger

A small group of undercover cops must become a criminal network themselves to catch an elusive killer who has outsmarted them for nearly a decade. This is not to be confused with the 2020 show starring Richard Armitage. Instead, this flick sees Sean Harris and Joel Edgerton share the spotlight. Catch it on Netflix on October 19.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is a little less sinister than its sounds. Marlon Wayans and Priah Ferguson star as a father and daughter duo who try to save their town from a horde of evil, living Halloween decorations. Okay, maybe it’s a little sinister. Catch it on October 14.

Shantaram

Charlie Hunnam stars as Lin Ford, an escaped convict outrunning the law in 1980s Bombay but finds redemption in one of the sprawling city’s slums. Catch Apple TV Plus’ latest movie on October 14.
