Tech downed by Duke – Virginia Tech Athletics

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 11 Duke at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
In doubles action, freshman Tamara Barad Itzhaki and junior Rita Pinto kept a tight match against the doubles team of Chloe Beck and Karolina Berankova on Court 2, until the game was called short due to the point being clinched.
 
The Blue Devils fielded all six of their ranked players in the singles portion and clinched the match with straight set wins on Court 1, Court 4, and Court 5.
 
The Hokies will return to action on the road on Friday, February 26 against Syracuse.
